Buying at auction
Who benefits from the sale?
Find out who benefits from our auctions through buyer's fees, bonuses and the required sale.
Buyer's fees among the lowest on the market
As a buyer, you have the opportunity to acquire a wide variety of objects at all prices. Sales of jewelry, watches, objets d'art, fashion items and even bottles of wine are a big hit with connoisseurs and collectors, who benefit from buyer's fees of 18% incl. VAT. On average, the establishment organizes 80 sales a year, catering for all budgets. All the items on sale have passed through the expert hands of the auctioneers, a guarantee of quality for every customer.
A rare feature: the bonus
Just under 10% of the items pledged at Crédit Municipal de Paris are sold at auction. The bank supports its customers: at the end of the sale, if the auction price is higher than the amount owed by the original owner of the item, the difference, known as the bonus, is paid back to him or her. In 2023, 5.3 million euros in bonuses were generated and paid out to pawnbroking customers whose items were sold at auction. If the sale does not cover the amount owed by the borrower, the institution does not claim anything back; the loan is settled.
Crédit Municipal de Paris auctions therefore offer clear advantages for both buyers and sellers of lots.
The required sale
The required sale allows you to request that the items you pledge be sold at auction. Approximately 10% of depositors make use of this facility. If this is the case for you, when you pledge your items, be sure to tell the agent handling your file that you would like a sale by auction. Three months after your items have been pledged, we will send you a request for a required sale, so that you can sell your items as quickly as possible.
