• French or foreign passport
• Card for citizens of a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area (EEA)** and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA)***.
• Residence permit or provisional residence permit issued by the French authorities, accompanied by original passport
• Refugee travel document

• Last tax assessment or notice of non-taxation
• Last notice of council tax
• Invoice or certificate of contract from an energy or water supplier, landline or mobile telephone subscription or Internet service provider
• Annual certificate of primary residence insurance
• Valid Social Security entitlement certificate
• Certificate of entitlement or payment from the Caisse d'Allocations Familiales (family allowance office)
• Lease or rent receipt showing the contact details of the lessor and lessee

If you are lodging, in addition to your French national identity card, French passport or residence permit, you can present proof of address showing your lodger's first name and surname, together with his or her valid identity document, and a duly completed attestation of lodging.
